Therapy FAQs

  • Do you take insurance?

I believe care should be accessible, and I am to offer transparency and flexibility. I’m currently in-network with:

    Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO

    Blue Choice

    United Healthcare

For other insurance providers, I can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.

Questions about coverage or payment? Reach out — I’m here to help.

  • Do you offer out-of-pocket rates?

I also offer out-of-pocket rates for those paying directly. I’m committed to working collaboratively and respectfully around financial accessibility and can offer limited sliding-scale options based on need and availability.

For those paying the full out-of-pocket rate, your contribution helps make sliding scale options possible for others. If you're able to pay the full fee, you’re helping support equitable access to care in our community.

    Session Rates:

    10-minute Consultation: $0

    55-minute Intake Assessment: $230

    55-minute Follow-Up Appointment: $200-$225

  • Do you offer sliding scale?

To make therapy more accessible, I offer a reduced fee for those who need financial assistance. These sliding scale spots are limited and intended to support individuals for whom the standard rate is a barrier to care.

I prioritize access for those most impacted by systemic oppression and financial hardship. For folks who prefer not to use insurance, I also accept out-of-pocket payments and am happy to explore flexible options that support your ability to engage in consistent care.

If you’re interested in a sliding scale arrangement, please reach out. We can explore availability and what feels sustainable for you.

  • What are your cancellation and rescheduling policies?

I see therapy as a shared commitment rooted in community care. Your session time is reserved just for you — and with enough notice, it can be offered to someone else in need. To support this ethic of access, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations will be charged the full fee, as the time is unlikely to be filled. I understand that life happens — if an emergency or unexpected event arises, please reach out. I’ll always do my best to respond with understanding.

  • Where are your services located?

All therapy services are currently offered virtually, allowing for flexibility and accessibility regardless of where you are in Illinois. Through secure online platforms, I connect with individuals in the comfort of their own space, ensuring that therapy fits into your life with ease.

When weather permits, I also offer outdoor therapy for those who feel that being in nature enhances their healing process. Outdoor therapy provides a grounding, embodied experience that blends the natural world with the therapeutic process.

If you're interested in outdoor therapy or have questions about how virtual sessions work, feel free to reach out — I’m here to make your experience as supportive and effective as possible.

  • Do you provide Good Faith Estimates?

In compliance with the No Surprises Act, I am committed to providing clear and upfront information about the cost of services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning therapy, including the projected fees for your care.

We will review this estimate together during our initial consultation, and you’re always welcome to ask questions or request clarification at any time.

If the actual cost of care differs significantly from the estimate, I will work with you to ensure transparency and support around billing.

Community FAQs

  • What are community events?

Community events are intentional gatherings that foster connection, reflection, and shared support as part of a holistic approach to healing. Events may take the form of healing circles, meet-ups, workshops, or community rituals, exploring themes like existential meaning-making, ancestral connection, expressive arts, somatic breathwork, ancestral connection, and new/full moon gatherings.

  • Who facilitates these events?

Events are facilitated by Healing Revival Collective founder Erynn Besser, alongside a rotating group of healers, artists, and change-makers. Some gatherings are hosted by community partners, while others are co-created in collaboration — all rooted in a shared commitment to meaningful community-centered experiences.

  • Are these events considered therapy or therapeutic support spaces?

While healing often occurs in these spaces, most community events are not considered therapy. Instead, they are therapeutic support spaces—intentionally designed to foster reflection, connection, and emotional well-being outside of a clinical setting.

  • Do I need to be in therapy to attend?

Not at all. Healing takes many forms, and therapy isn’t a requirement to participate. That said, being in therapy can be another tool for integrating and deepening the insights that arise from community experiences.

  • Who can attend community events? Are they open to the public?

Anyone is welcome to attend community events. They are open to the public unless otherwise specified.

  • What are the costs of community events?

The cost of community events varies depending on the offering. Healing Revival Collective values accessibility and community support, so if the cost is a barrier for you, please reach out—efforts will be made to reduce obstacles and make participation possible..

  • Do you collaborate with other healers, therapists, or wellness practitioners?

Yes! Collaboration is at the heart of the Collective’s philosophy, as it is believed that true healing happens in community. I deeply value building relationships with other therapists, artists, healers, dreamers, and change makers. Whether it’s through co-hosted events, referrals, shared practices, or interdisciplinary wellness programming, I am always seeking to work alongside others who are committed to holistic, inclusive, and culturally responsive care. At Healing Revival Collective, collaboration isn’t just a strategy– it’s a core value that allows us to expand access, deepen impact, and support collective healing.
